I found some references on the web about Michelangelo and when he was working during the darkness of the night he worn a paper hat (or cardboard hat) with a candle inside to have some light and have his hands free.
I wonder what kind of paper hat (fire proof) was it. Folded? Does anybody knows about that? Early references to paper hats?

Good luck,

Hello José Tomás,

The source of that information must be Giorgio Vasari: Vita di Michelangelo

[Translation Google: Well ... and often the night rose, unable to sleep, to work with the chisel, having made a concealed cartón, and over half of the head kept the candle burning, which made way with envi lumen where he worked, without impediment of the hands.]
