About (modern) diagrams of the basic model, one more example :

The model still titled "Candy Box" is diagrammed in the Toshie Takahama's book "Creative Life with Creative Origami 3" published in 1990 by Macaw.
And, the model is credited to : "May Soong" !

Joan has found this example of Zhen Xian Bao by a Chinese man living in Paris in the 1860s - quite beautiful! And what is more astounding is that it is made from a *single* *uncut" sheet of paper!! The traditional original was not from a *single* *uncut" sheet of paper... But now, after 150 years, ...

About (modern) diagrams of this model : The basic box has been described, under the title "Flowered candy box", in 1948, by Maying Soong in his book "The Art of Chinese Paper Folding for Young and Old", pages 109 to 118.
