Re: Origami by Isao Honda (1931)

I recently bought "Origami 3" (1933), despite the title it contains exclusively "Origami part one" and "Origami part two". It seems to be an editorial operation, without any intervention by Honda, neither a new introduction. Hi Carlo I don't speak Japanese but with Edw...

Re: very early advanced folding!

About (modern) diagrams of the basic model, one more example :

The model still titled "Candy Box" is diagrammed in the Toshie Takahama's book "Creative Life with Creative Origami 3" published in 1990 by Macaw.
And, the model is credited to : "May Soong" !

Re: very early advanced folding!

Joan has found this example of Zhen Xian Bao by a Chinese man living in Paris in the 1860s - quite beautiful! And what is more astounding is that it is made from a *single* *uncut" sheet of paper!! The traditional original was not from a *single* *uncut" sheet of paper... But now, after 1...

Re: very early advanced folding!

About (modern) diagrams of this model : The basic box has been described, under the title "Flowered candy box", in 1948, by Maying Soong in his book "The Art of Chinese Paper Folding for Young and Old", pages 109 to 118. The model begins from a 1 x 2 paper. You can see the diagra...
